Omcha Updates

Things have progressed on the tea project. The client was generally happy with the aesthetic and general direction of things - but they wanted a different teapot design, so I reworked the visuals to match up.

At this stage the final still illustrations are complete and I we have an approved flyer!

I also printed a very rough mockup at home for the final look, to check legibility. It came out fine, but my guillotine chewed it up horribly, so not exactly display-worthy!

The animation will be finished a bit later - I have some other projects on my plate at the moment - but we can switch focus soon. The new teapot design does present some new challenges (it's see-through, so I have to include some animation for the tea and the leaves inside) but thankfully it is a simple art style, so it is more of a volume game.

I will share once it is complete.

 Hello All!

It has been a significantly long time since I made any updates here. For the last 7 and a half years, I have been working in-house at WildBrain in London. Over that time I have worked on a number of projects and experienced a variety of roles and productions.

Sadly, as of the end of this year - production at WildBrain London has been dissolved and I am no longer employed there.

To that end, I shall be updating this blog, with some back dated posts, that chronicle and demonstrate some of those things I have been working on in that time.

In the meantime, below is a very rough video summary of many of the things I worked on - from my first video edits at the company, to the animated shorts I wrote and produced.

It was a wild ride (pun intended) and I hope to continue to create great things beyond my time there.

(If any of these things intrigue you, you may find further context on my LinkedIn and IMDb pages.

Cup of Char

I've been enlisted by a tea brand to create a short informative animation going through the brewing process, step by step.

More details once the video is finished and live, but in the meantime here are some WiP images.

Devising palette and recreating logo in vector form to pin down style.

Working on final imagery for one of the steps.

Rough animation in composition mockup.

More rough sketches for steps, looking at potential angles for the action.
